Daniel, along with his Granddad, lived in a weather beaten shack on the outskirts. Daniel would do odd jobs to keep them from starving. His Granddad was the grand old age of 98 and still going strong. Daniel himself was only 9, but looked a good few years older. Daniel was average height, size, strength but not average smart. This boy was cunning, quick and adaptive to the situation.
